Learning Management

Edmodo

I'm a little familiar with Edmodo since my daughter uses it for school.  I don't think it's very practical for me, teaching elementary art, at this point, but I created a group and created two student accounts to add to my group.  In the assignment I shared a link to a website where they were to create a collage and then save the picture and upload it in their post to the group.
Here is the screenshot of the group page with the assignment and posts from the two "students".
Schoology

In Schoology I created a course, and uploaded an assignment with an image.  I also created a discussion and attached a video. Here is the screenshot of the course where you can see the
assignment and discussions.

I do not use any LMS in my job.  I teach K-3rd grade and they are so far from being able to use anything from this. Also, we do not have one to one technology. Students do not have daily access to computers/iPads within my classroom.  I'm not sure that I would ever use a LMS with my students.  Almost everything they do is hands-on, creating artwork.  I think if I taught upper grades and they were already using an LMS like Edmodo in their core classes, I could easily set something up that would enhance their opportunities for learning.  I like Edmodo better than Schoology.  It was easier to navigate and use.
